Joints.
Every bone in the body forms a joint with another bone except the hyoid bone.
Synovial Joints AKA Diarthroses Joints.
Joints that are held together by ligaments and are freely moveable. Examples: Condyloid, Saddle, Ball & socket, Hinge, Pivot, and Gliding.
Amphiarthroses Joints.
Slightly moveable joints connected by fibrous cartilage. Examples: intervertebral discs join each vertebrae and allow slight movement.
Synarthroses Joints.
Joints that do not move. Sutures between the different bones in the cranium do not move.
